NYC GIRL: IRINA VODOLAZOVA

NYC GIRL: IRINA VODOLAZOVA

We chose Irina as our NYC girl because she is beautiful, fresh and most importantly a young mom. Though Irina has been modeling clothes for many years, she is not a fashionista. She’s very down to earth. Irina was kind enough to allow us pick out a wardrobe that we felt best represents her individuality. Our team of stylists created a look featuring the latest items from Spring’14 collection. We wanted to present Irina in two distinctive looks showcasing her both casual and glamorous sides.

Here’s her story:

“New York is my favorite city. We both chose each other, it was love at first sight. Many years ago, when I just started modeling, I came here from Russia and was instantly blown away by its combination of comfort and friendliness with a powerful electric energy of the metropolis. Here crosses the energy axis of the globe, and at the same time, different streets at the center of Manhattan are still so homely and cozy. Just like my native Yaroslavl. There’s nothing like it in the whole world. ”

One of my favorite restaurants in New York has to be Sushi Yassuda. Trust me- these are the best sushi in the world! I worked a lot in Japan, but I haven’t tasted anything like it even there. Cipriani Downtown is a great place to meet and catch up with friends. I always order the same dish, veal milanese.

Crosby Street is one of my favorite hotels here. We lived there during my future husband’s first trips to NY.

Daily walks around Central park for many hours with a baby carriage and my iPhone replace any treatments and fitness for me. I read, I photograph the changing nature every day, chat with my friends and my beloved husband. And all of this – in motion.

I love shopping. My favorite store is definitely Chanel. Everybody knows me there and I know everyone.

I like Japanese markets in downtown. You can find a lot of cool and interesting items there, such as vintage Chanel and Versace, from the period of the great Gianni. I wear vintage clothing with pleasure.

There is a special activity each season here for friends who’ve never been to NY before. In the summer – it’s Hamptons. In the winter – sale events in malls and Madison Square Garden, but only if the Colorado Avalanche with the best goaltender, Semyon Varlamov will be playing! In spring – seeing the blooming of Sakura in the japanese garden at Colombia University. And in Fall, walks in Central Park of course.

NYC is a synonym of my all time favorite movies, books and music, from Breakfast at Tiffany’s  to It’s me, Eddie. That’s what sets it apart from the rest of the world.

“In New York you can do anything! That’s why I love living here no matter how many days a year.”
