BALTHAZAR NYC : A City Masterpiece

BALTHAZAR NYC : A City Masterpiece

Balthazar is a city’s masterpiece, an evocation of a Paris brasserie in the heart of the big apple. It is the place to be and visit in New York. Favored by the likes of Anna Wintour and Sarah Jessica Parker, it is not only popular but a permanent staple. The classic atmosphere and authentic style of the spacious restaurant gives off a vibe of a french cafe nestled in the streets of Paris, yet retaining the identity of New York.  Since its opening in 1997, it’s commanded a key part of the city’s dining scene. Normally lengthy wait times and constantly filled seats are of no surprise here due to its noteworthy status.

Balthazar offers a traditional french cuisine, specializing in seafood with an array of fish entrees and a complete raw oyster and shellfish bar, not to mention the superb bakery. Wish dishes like escargot, brioche, eggs Florentine and duck confit, shepherd’s pie made with grilled dorade is exactly the kind of brasserie fare you would like to experience. Delicious, flavorful, cooked to perfection and well executed, accompanied by an excellent quality and service. Although the prices are a bit exorbitant, Balthazar is a worthy exception, as the world class meal among the elite of the city. It can’t get any more french in NYC than Balthazar. See and be seen at this hip soho staple. 80 Spring St New York
