PITTI UOMO SPRING 2016: Best Street Style Roundup

Pitti Uomo is in full swing, which means, the fashion world has moved to Florence. The show isn’t only a pillar in menswear it is a full-fledged street style event. One can learn how to dress impeccably simply by watching the herd of elegantly dressed gentleman (and ladies too) parade down the streets. There to catch the public catwalk for Fashion IQ was Nabile Quenum of jaiperduemaveste.

Suits with flair dominated the street style scene. Lightweight sportcoats and vests fit the attendees tightly and the ankle length trousers they paired them with were equally close-fitting. The suited gentlemen that added a certain kind of hat to their ensembles looked like they could be from the Great Gatsby period, but the other kinds of accessories were purely modern.

Loud colored and oversized accessories were some of our favorite forms of expression. Bright socks, hats, and scarves drew in our eyes, as did the plaid adorned specimens walking down the streets. But, there was one type of accessory on display that we weren’t expecting to be adorned so universally… Beards! Almost every fashionable man in Firenze was wearing one.

A less manly appearance, although not necessarily un-masculine, were the female guests. The women in attendance had, in general, a more casual approach about what to wear to the event. From sneakers with socks, to boyfriend tees, to sports jackets, and large button up shirts that looked as if they might have been snagged from their male counterparts closets; the women took adding masculinity to their looks seriously. It’s enlightening to see the influence of menswear on women’s style in Italy. Another thing we weren’t expecting.

We love what we are seeing so far on the Italian streets and can’t wait to share more looks with you from Italy! Check in Monday for more fashion coverage of Mens Spring 2016 as the fashion scene turns its focus on Milano.
