Our Take on the Best Coffee in LA

On Monday, especially those following holiday weekends, there’s only one thing on our minds…. Coffee. Fortunately for us, LA has it’s fair share of coffee snobbery. So here’s our take on the best coffee in LA.

INTELLIGENTSIA

3922 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles & 1331 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice

Best Coffee in LA
1331 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice

One couldn’t have found a more perfect name for this roaster. It’s Silver Lake locale is the watering hole for many a hip, creative intellectual drinking up their brews over an equally brewed up conversation.

Like all great coffee elitists, don’t go there expecting a lot of options. The espresso takes center stage here and anything that might distract a taster from the roast (except the lovely faces of the highly trained barista’s preparing your drink), is simply not offered.

So if you absolutely need a milk substitute or want something with a little more dressing, this may not be the place for you.

GO GET EM TIGER

230 N Larchmont Blvd, Los Angeles

If you take coffee with your milk (not the other way around), go get em tiger is a great option. Not to say they don’t have great coffee, they do! But, they aren’t afraid to mix it up with other flavors. Don’t drink milk? No problem! Everyday they make an almond-macadamia ‘milk’ that is to die for.

The cafe also offers some delicious food, which makes it a great place to meet up with friends for more than just coffee and a pastry. It does get crowded though, so go there prepared for a wait.

ESPRESSO CIELO

3101 Main St, Santa Monica

For something more friendly than hip, but with coffee that’s still just as good, try Espresso Cielo. Famous for their coffee and for the good vibes of their Santa Monica shop just steps from the beach. This is a great place to go when you just want to sit back, relax, and sip your coffee in peace.
