Alessandro Michele’s entrance into his role as the creative director of Gucci was reminiscent of a fledgling pharaoh of the past, defacing the images of his predecessor in order to legitimize his own reign. Though Alessandro Michele didn’t take a hammer to stone, conquer he did! Gone was the sober Gucci collection of his predecessor and former boss, Giannini. In was the stimulating collection of Michele!

But, this isn’t about analyzing the mysterious and eccentric designer that shocked everyone by his sudden ascension to fashion stardom, and his even more daring first collection. There are already too many articles about that. This is about actually wearing Michele’s fresh approach to fashion this fall. After all, we love trying outrageously new styles before everyone else dares to.

Lace, ruffles, floral prints, pleated skirts, saggy pants, fur-trimmed shoes, and bold fur coats. Yes, please! We almost feel like laid-back queens just looking at the collection. So where do we start? Well, we can tell you where our founder Masha Lopatova began her love affair with the new Gucci— pink & red chevron fur coat, sheer lace top, long pleated skirt, and fur-trimmed slipper heels. She jumped into Alessandro Michele’s collection head first!

So how can someone begin their own relationship with the new Gucci? Well, that’s personal. But at Fashion IQ we believe that when taking a dive, one should go in with a splash!
