TRENDS & TIPS: Women’s Top 10 Swimwear Styles!

Never before have designers been more aware of all the beautiful, but very different, female body types and sizes. When it comes to swimwear, there is literally something for every woman. And not just to wear to swim, but to feel comfortable and fashionable around the pool.

Here are the Top 10 Swimwear Styles & some quick tips to choose the right style for you:

1. The Ruffle Bikini

This lovely ruffled Bikini, designed by Lisa Marie Fernandez and made from Italian bonded fabric, is one of the most elegant options out there. The off-the-shoulder cut has a slimming effect on your waist and hips so if you have a smaller bust and larger hips, this bikini will flatter and balance your frame while drawing attention to your upper body. We really love the versatility of this style; it can be worn by itself to the beach or we even like the idea of pairing the top with a skirt to wear to a party.

2. The Classic String Bikini

Everyone has a favorite string bikini. It’s a staple in most girls swimwear repoirtoires. One of our favorites is the Eres’ bikini from the sexy ‘Les Essentiels’ collection. It is cut from the brand’s signature peau douce fabric to fit your body like a glove. Most body types can wear a string bikini, but something like this is most flattering on women that feel oh very comfortable showing off some skin.

3. Bandeau One Piece:

If you don’t feel like flaunting it all… this ’60s-inspired bandeau swimsuit is another fun creation from Lisa Marie Fernandez. This one-piece is crafted from Italian seersucker and finished with a pretty, little bow at the bust. This is a flattering style that’s perfect for the woman a little more sensitive about showing off her mid drift. Light support and lift is offered at the bust with flexible boning. Throw on some high wasted bottoms and this swimsuit just turned into a cute top.

4. Nautical Bikini:

This nautical-inspired ‘Sailor’ bikini is yet another ‘sea worthy’ Lisa Marie Fernandez masterpiece. I guess we just love her! Cut from the brand’s signature fabric, this bikini supports and sculpts while providing full coverage. The red trimmed edges give the top a slender appearance while the navy briefs sit low on the hips and help to elongate the waist. Swim laps and play volleyball in this practical yet sport bikini.

5. High Waisted Bikini:

Flagpole Swim’s ‘Perry’ bikini is both fashion forward and retro at the same time. Its high-rise briefs and geometric designs are so popular this season. Designed with New York skylines in mind the panels create the illusion of a thinner frame, this is a good choice for hourglass figures. Made with chlorine-resistant Italian fabric, this bikini is perfect for those wanting a little more coverage. The demi-bra will give you enough support and confidence to ‘work this look’.

6. Crocheted Bikini:

She Made Me’s lovely lilac bikini was handcrafted with antiqued shells by Indonesian artisans. This 70’s retro-inspired bikini with delicate scalloped trims has a soft stretch-jersey lining which enables the crocheted cotton to hold its shape when wet. Similar to the string bikini, this set will look slimming on a slender woman but very sexy on someone with a few more curves.

7. Draped Top Bikini:

Mara Hoffman’s draped overlay bikini is printed with an abstract palm pastel motif that we are seeing alot this season. The top has supportive side boning, while the low-rise bottoms sit on the waist to help elongate the torso. The bottoms are reversible for a simpler, different, newer look. Women with a smaller bust look the most flattering in this beautiful bikini.

8. Balconnet Bikini:

Triangl’s ‘Poppy Paradise Palms’ bikini is the funkiest pick on our must have swimwear list. The balconnet style top has a molded, underwire cup with adjustable straps perfect for any bust size. The hipster bottoms have high curved sides which will flatter most body types and sizes. This bikini screams cool and, with its neon mint and purple color blocks, will draw all the attention you’ll need during your trip to…wherever!

 9. Halter Neck Swimsuit:

Mikoh’s halter neck swimsuit has a flattering, low-plunge front for those wanting to show off a little (or a lot) of cleavage this summer. This suit is perfect for someone that likes the feel of a one-piece, with its low cut back, but the coverage of a bikini.

10. Cut Out Swimsuit:

Zimmermann’s halter neck swimsuit is made from a marl-gray, double-layered stretch-cotton jersey that will not go sheer when wet. The woman with the hourglass figure will look the most stunning in this gorgeous swimsuit with its cutout sides. Pair it with some jewelry and a mini skirt for an outfit to wear dancing after a nice, long day by the pool.
