Every fashionista is patiently awaiting November 5— the day when H&M will begin selling their newest designer collaboration with Balmain. At 8:00 am sharp select locations will open their doors & the much awaited collaboration will be available online at 8:00 am EST.
Anyone willing to wait patiently in a line could potentially own the entire collection (if you’re at the front of the line & can speed shop in 15 minutes)— something few could afford if it were a regular Balmain collection. However, we don’t recommend shopping this collection without a strategy. You might miss out on getting the most important pieces.
Fortunately, we have advice on not only what to buy but how to style the Balmain x H&M collaboration, according to Celine Aagard. While the style icon was in New York, she worked with Fashion IQ’s own photographerto create a catalog of looks of the much awaited collection for her site envelope.no. Here’s what pieces from the collection Celine recommends purchasing:
THE LONG WOOL JACKET
Wear it as a jacket, or do what Celine did, wear it as a dress. This is one of the strongest pieces from the collection, not only because it’s timeless, but because it has the power to stand by itself.
WHITE WOOL JACKET with SATIN LAPELS
This is one of the biggest steals of the collection. Celine wore the jacket in her signature style— White on Black. She paired this beautiful coat with a pair of black, leather trousers. Use your own leather pants or purchase a pair from the collection.
VEST with SATIN LAPELS
This piece can turn any t-shirt and jean ensemble from mediocre to amazing! We love how Celine paired the dressy piece with tattered denim and a Balmain tee.
DRAPED SILK SKIRT
Speaking of the Balmain tee, one of our favorite looks of Celine’s Balmain x H&M photo shoot was when she paired it with the lipstick-red draped skirt in silk. This skirt is a must on our list!
JACQUARD-WEAVE SILK DRESS
Last, but not least, was a dressier item. Celine’s top pick from the mini-dress side of the collection (which is abundant) was the Jacquard-weave silk dress— sexy and elegant.
Now that you know what Celine chose for herself, we hope it will help you narrow your own list down. Bonne Chance this Thursday! We hope you get everything you want!
