TRENDS & TIPS: That 70s Trend

That 70s trend is a fun addition to any street style repertoire, especially if you happen to be out and about during the fashion weeks! If you want to try out this look, but are afraid of taking it too far, here’s a bit of advice from our fashion consulting team.

There are a few elements you need in order to master this kind of ensemble successfully. Wearing Culottes or an A-Line skirt is a great way to start the looks foundation, add a simple top with cutoff sleeves for the day or a long sleeve blouse for an evening. Now you have a beginning, but where the look really begins to take off are with the accessories.

Gladiator inspired sandals are a perfect addition to take your 70’s look to the next level. Note that the length of your skirt will determine the height of your sandals’ lacing. For short shorts and skirts we recommend knee height sandals. For longer bottoms, we recommend ankle to mid-calf lacing. Add a petite tanned leather Chloe purse and pearl cuff for elegance, and finish it off with some great shades. Although these tortoise shell Céline sunglasses are a more modern piece, they remake your 70’s look so it’s applicable for today.
