Paris Fashion Week for Men Spring 2016 ended last weekend, and the looks we saw on the streets left us a bit… wanting. The European tour of mens fashion has been eclectic as we’ve moved from London, to Florence, to Milan, and now to the last stop Paris, where things were much more modern.

Gone were the fitted, Italian suits we love about Italian fashion week. Attendees kept it casual and futuristic when they appeared for the shows of Mens Fashion Week in Paris. The only looks that trailed in from Milan’s Street Style were the straps cinching across attendees wastes or dangling decoratively from their trousers. We also saw attendees in full denim, which has been a style seen consistently since London.

In general, there was a lot more urban street-wear looks in this street style fanfare, and although we like a bit of this look, we couldn’t help but feel the men got a bit sloppy in Paris. Except for a few, elegant looks from female attendees, Mens Fashion Week guests in Paris wore nothing compared to what we saw from the London, Florence, and Milan attendees. But, it would be wrong to say there was nothing to see.

A look that caught our eye while in Paris that we would like to see more of were long kimono style coats. More than one attendee was sporting this traditional Japanese look, and it gave a regal element to a street style show that was otherwise lacking. In fact, we couldn’t help but feel most of the best looks of Paris Street style were more Tokyo than Paris.

It isn’t the end yet! We still have a bit more of Spring 2016 for Men when the Fashion World moves to our neighborhood… Yes, it’s coming to New York! See you July 14 when we share the street style from our very own NYC!
