“Oh, Boy!”: Patrick Petitjean

“Oh, Boy!”: Patrick Petitjean

Patrick Petitjean, the breathtakingly beautiful male model that (many believe) single-handedly brought back the fashionable beard, is an expert on reinventing himself. Not many people in the fashion world have successfully recreated themselves the way Patrick has done. Born in France in 1984, Patrick was already a well-known model in 1996 at the young age of 12. Patrick, in fact, became one of the most photographed models in the 90’s appearing on billboards for Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, Missoni, and Calvin Klein.

With his 6 ft height, magnificent physic, piercing blue eyes, kind disposition, impeccable fashion style, and perfectly chiseled facial features, Patrick doesn’t even seem real! Even with all this beauty, however, Patrick started to see a lull in his modeling career in the early 2000’s.

In 2006, Patrick signed with Why Not, International Bleu Agency and by 2008 had become bigger and better than even he could have ever imagined. As a result of growing his beard and hair longer, Patrick alone changed men’s fashion and immediately became the new look for men. With his new, unique ‘Jesus look’, Patrick became the inspiration of many designers and photographers alike.

In 2009, Patrick’s new look became an international success for men everywhere in his break-through campaign for H&M, photographed by Andreas Sjodin. The male beard was no longer viewed with a negative hippy image; with a little help from Patrick, it had become a stylish look for many fashionable men all over the world.

Patrick Petitjean is still on top of the modeling world, sometimes sporting a beard and sometimes beardless. One thing is for certain, though, Patrick knows his fashion and will always be revered as the gorgeous man who single-handedly made the beard what it is today: a fashionable, sophisticated, stylish look for all men.
