SUNDAY BRUNCH: Café Select

SUNDAY BRUNCH: Café Select

Café Select is the SoHo hot spot for fashionistas. Oyster bar, muesli pancakes, coconut French toast, schnitzel or eggs Norwegian style – whatever you choose after brunch at Cafe Select, not only will you be satiated with great food, but also with with latest fashion news, trends and gossip as well  – the space is so small, that it’s hard to keep all the secrets here.

It never gets quiet, no matter what hour it is – till the very dawn it’s going to be noisy, packed and overall alive. It became one of  the «select» places for fashion crowds, gallery owners, art-collectors, designers and artists. So prepare yourself for camera flashes, unique cocktails and trendy dishes. Swiss by birth, Café Select is extremely punctual and is utterly perfectionist (your eggs Benedict will come right on time and you can always check it to make sure on your neighbor’s oversized Rolex..).

Café Select has penchant for cheese and chocolate (starters and desert will prove us right) and very multicultural – models, fashion editors, “It” girls and socialites from all over the world dine here and not only during the New York Fashion Week.  One of the main reasons for its popularity is fashion photographer/manager Benoit Cornet, along with a very talented mixologist that can concoct your own version of a Mimosa. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks and people combined, will make you want to come back for dinner every night and even on your lunch breaks, that’s for sure.  And if you get lucky enough, maybe you will get into the secret hidden back room.  Fashion IQ will give you a hint – the way to the «rabbit hole» goes through the kitchen. But promise to keep it a secret and let it stay between us.
