THE ARMORY SHOW : New York’s Largest Art Fair and The Crown Jewel of the City

New York’s largest fair is here. Located at Pier 92 & 94 on the Hudson River, The Armory Show is the crown jewel of the city from March 4-8, introducing Americans and Europeans to what is new in art. The show showcases modern and contemporary art from all over the world, consisting of over 760 artists and 2,100 artworks, and nearly 200 galleries from around the globe. Established in 1913, the art fair remains the biggest in New York and is one of the most important exhibitions held in the United States. With roughly 65,000 visitors, The Armory Show attracts audiences from all over the world, remaining a great place to see the city, learn about international galleries and to experience the movement of art currents.

Every year, it is a unique cultural gathering, displaying cutting-edge contemporary and modern art, including the European avant-garde, icons of American art, and earlier works of modern art progression. Drawing the latest movements in politics, social reform, progressive thought and developments in modern architecture. Our team was one of the first to get a glimpse of the show and bring exclusive visual material to our readers.

We loved the diverse canvases and paintings, and the array of ceramic sculptures and eye-catching LED installations. Each work had a fundamental meaning, conveying a special message through quotations or dramatic representations. The fair collections had a focused selection of artists from the Middle East, North Africa and the Mediterranean, showcasing what has beeb generated in the global art scene over the last year.

The different structures and textures created a dramatic effect, that under close inspection leaves you speechless. Mesmerizing and avant-garde, the artworks made a lasting impression. Fashion IQ, in an exclusive partnership with ART SY, is bringing you the gallery of the best artworks from the show.
