WARDROBE: Mens Swimwear

Swimwear has become anything but boring, even for Men. As summer comes to its peak, its even more important to be soaking up the summer days. Inspired by the heat, our stylists chose their favorite mens swimwear, with styles that are basic to out of the ordinary.

Thome Browne Striped Swim Shorts: If you are the kind of guy that wants something basic but not boring, we recommend these preppy shorts. The length is neither too long or too short, and the design is neither too much or too little. It’s just the right amount of everything.

Vilebrequin Printed Swim Shorts: The beach scene print on these out of the ordinary trunks is a photograph that was taken by photographer Massimo Vitali. These really aren’t as daring as they may seem. They are perfect for the man preferring a short that’s a little bit longer, and would look particularly good on a man with longer legs. The print makes the swimsuit interesting, but not too crazy.

COS x Mr Porter Printed Cotton Shorts: Looks can be deceiving. Upon first glance, the design of these shorts is simple enough yet they are anything but. The combination of burgundy on white, and the erratic line design gives the shorts a flair. The shorts are mid length, but not for the faint of heart. White draws the eye so only wear if that’s what you’re wanting.

Dolce & Gabbana Embroidered Short-Length Shorts: The opposite of the COS shorts, these will draw the eye to your legs. While the elegant and simple design is appealing in and of itself, these shorts don’t draw attention to themselves but enhance the appearance of the man who is wearing them. Shorter shorts like these will really complement the man with shorter legs and longer torsos.

Saturdays Surf NYC Tie-Dye Cotton Shorts: Another pair of shorts that draw a lot of attention to themselves, they can be a cool purchase if you’re searching for something interesting. They were designed to be worn from street to beach, and their mid-length cut makes them relatively accessible to anybody.

Missoni Short Printed Swim Shorts: The most daring swim shorts on our list, these will definitely get attention. They are short and they have a vivid print so are only for the man wanting to be seen.

Mollusk  Board shorts: These knee length shorts are a nice choice for the taller man, with longer legs. The slim fit cut and length are also good for pairing with a button up top for a nice, casual about town look.

Frescobol Carioca Copacabana Swim Shorts: These shorts really would be perfect to wear on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, but you don’t have to fly so far… They are a fun option for NYC too. The longer mid length cut is good for about just anyone, especially because there are tabs that allow you to personalize the fit.

Hartford Mid-Length Swim Shorts: Everything about these shorts is simple and easy. They are comfortable and the look says ‘I look good but like I don’t need to even try.’

NN. 07 Mid Length Swim Shorts: The cut is simple but the color is loud. The fit is a simpler one, with an elastic waist, but the color screams ‘I’m here!’ We will definitely be able to spot you in the waves.
