Angeles Almuna is as fun and sweet as her name suggests. As the newest NYC Girl, she shared with us about living, styling, photographing, and enjoying the Big Apple. Here’s her story:
As a Fashion Photographer I love to capture the magical moments of a runway show. As a Fashion Stylist, I have the oportunity to show what I love about fashion, which for me, is really all about creating new fashion stories. From the day that we choose the clothes until the day of the photo shoot, the whole process makes me happy.
In regards to my own fashion story… at the end of the day my personal style is very versatile. I love to mix all different items from my wardrobe with vintage pieces. Every day for me is a different way to discover my own unique style, and a couple of pieces that have become my favorites are my DelPozo shoes, original coat from MSGM, and my pink “Drew” bag from Chloe. Some next additions to my collection could be Rochas confetti, sling-back pumps or perhaps Pierre Hardy mutlicolor, atelier heels. I love statement shoes!
Although it may sound stereotypical, what I like the most about New York is the mix of culture, food, art, and the neighborhoods themselves. It’s a big city and I love to walk around, take the subway, go to bars with friends or even alone.
“In New York you always talk with the person next to you, the owner, and the people who work there. Everyone has a story to tell and there is always a new place to discover.”
When going out, I love Montmartre for a good burger, Cafe Select for cool drinks, the Boom Boom room for a night of sipping champagne, and for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Freemans Restaurant. Most of all, I love to walk around for hours, whether through Central Park in the Spring, the West or East Village to find a good cup of coffee, or through one of New York’s many, amazing museums.
One of my best New York experiences so far, was as a backstage photographer for Zac Posen during fashion week. I wore a cool feminine dress from Zac Posen, red lipstick, and my yellow satin shoes. And, for the first time, I realized that I’m apart of the fashion world— it felt like heaven to me! “
