JEREMY SCOTT : We’re Lovin’ It

JEREMY SCOTT : We’re Lovin’ It

Jeremy Scott is truly extraordinary. The designer is known for pushing boundaries and thinking ‘outside the box’ of fashion, expressing his creativity and unique vision to the full extent with his Adidas Originals collaboration and current role as creative director for Moschino. He has brought an entirely new wave to the world of fashion that is concentrated on details and color, along with elements of athleticism, using everything from McDonalds, iconic characters such as Spongebob, and even emojis as his source of inspiration. Interpreting these “everyday,” pop culture icons into wearable clothing and accessories with an ironic twist.

As a designer, he consistently uses bright and loud designs, leather and knitwear materials, eye-catching prints, and psychedelic illustrations. From fluffy sweaters, colorful pantsuits, flesh-toned PVC coats, mesh vests to bubblegum evening gowns. Jeremy is never afraid to take a risk, that’s for sure! We can’t blame him for prioritizing on fun. His collections are up lifting, crazy and free spirited, which is why he’s one of our favorite rebels of the fashion world!

The fast food and cartoon themed ready to wear clothing and accessories made a big splash this season. Fashionistas were photographed all fashion week wearing the daring pieces. Thanks to Jeremy Scott, the NYFW street style scene was filled with looks in red and yellow clothing, monstrous characters, adidas accents and ‘yummy’ accessories.

Good enough to eat!

However, there is a fine line between refined and quirky. Attention should be paid to the structure of the look, as well as color coordination. It’s completely fine to pair a classic like Chanel quilted bag with a Spongebob sweater dress, but avoid anything over the top. The key is to find the right balance, limiting your outfit to a single piece that stands out, whether it’s a Moschino ‘lunch bag’ or Adidas thigh high lace up sneaker boot. The selected item of choice will liven up the look without making it look tacky, while adding a dose of eccentricity. The Moschino collections produced by Jeremy Scott, allow for variety and exuberance in your wardrobe. So much to play with! After all, who can resist Spongebob?
