FALL TREND: The Camel Coat

Fashion is not just about the new trends, finding the next irresistible style before everyone else, it is also about being timeless. Every one of us has these looks in our closets, the ones that remain from season to season, year to year. The item we spot in the Vintage shop, on the racks of this seasons collections, and even at the back of our own closets that rings the bell, “I will wear this forever.” A particularly justifying feeling if the item has a heftier price tag than we were intending on spending and an even warmer fuzzy when we rediscover the thing in our own wardrobe, “Aha… I knew I would love you forever!” you think. The fashionista’s place of peace.

One of the items that can excite this kind of style zen is the Camel Coat. And, if you’re like us, you probably already own one or perhaps even three (you can never have too much of a timelessly good thing.)

But, what makes this particular item so endearing? it’s uniqueness and duality! Both a hero and a sidekick this coat can be and do many things. One, it is a look all by itself— Like our friend Anya Ziourova in the image above, a great Camel Coat can be buttoned up to actually be the look. Two, it can also be unassuming— a classic Camel Coat doesn’t mind taking the passengers seat (complementing a look instead of staging it) just take a look how Caroline de Maigret is wearing her Camel Coat. And Three, the Camel Coat can enhance a look and take it to a whole new level— as demonstrated by our very own Masha Lopatova Kirilenko.

So if you don’t have one yet, or feel like you need yet another… take a note from our book and get yourself a timeless Camel Coat. We give you license to purchase with, not only no regret, but the peace of knowing it was a good investment.

  1. Absolutely! My Max Mara Leopard Print Faux Fur Winter coat. Full swing coat above the knee with hood. It is such a show stopper that I have been wianerg it for the past 21 years and I still get compliments every time I wear it. I want to keep for as long as possible so I only wear it on special occasions now. My other favorite item? My multiple black turtlenecks.
